Pinot Noir may seem an odd choice for a winter wine as it’s so lively and fruity. But surely that’s the perfect antidote to these cold, dark nights? This Pinot from the south of France is filled with red berry fruit, a smooth seam of vanilla and plenty of wonderful forest fruit characters.
Pinot Noir is doubly suited to winter as it pairs so well with the foods traditionally eaten at this time of year; gamey, meaty dishes work especially well and it is of course a knockout with the Christmas turkey.
